On June 25th 2024 the government of Kenya restricted internet access throughout the country and in fact the entire East African Region. This was an unprecedented event that has no precedence. The internet shutdown affected multiple sectors of the economy and even crated unsafe circumstance for communities that were under violent attacks by military and police forces. Join us as we discuss the implications of this event in the context of the continued work to promote openness and and open internet.
